From Ljubljana to the World: LJUBLJANA MBA at EMBA Consortium International Week 2026

Ljubljana became an international meeting point for Executive MBA participants this September, as LJUBLJANA MBA hosted the EMBA Consortium International Week and welcomed participants from 11 partner business schools.

Our program focused on the strategic use of artificial intelligence, exploring how leaders can understand, evaluate, and apply AI in business decision-making. Academic sessions were complemented by company visits, expert discussions, a visit to Bled, and numerous opportunities to connect beyond the classroom.

The week concluded with a final session led by Luka Tomat, PhD, followed by the presentation of International Week certificates. Its greatest value, however, came from the exchange of perspectives among participants from different countries, industries, and business environments.

LJUBLJANA MBA around the world

While Ljubljana welcomed international Executive MBA participants, LJUBLJANA MBA participants travelled to partner business schools around the world. Their reflections on LinkedIn show the diversity of topics, business environments, and experiences made possible through the EMBA Consortium network.

Brazil, FGV/EBAPE, Rio de Janeiro

International Week in Brazil offered participants new perspectives on business and the opportunity to connect with Executive MBA peers from around the world. Vid Petelin highlighted the learning experience, fresh perspectives, and new professional relationships and friendships that continued beyond the program itself.

Poland, Kozminski University, Warsaw

In Warsaw, participants explored Poland’s economic transformation, leadership, digitalisation, and management in a rapidly changing environment. Alongside the academic content, Vlasta Cirar highlighted the importance of the group experience, shaped through discussions, company visits, and shared moments in the city.

Italy, Bologna Business School, Bologna

In Bologna, participants explored how organisations can combine heritage, strong brand identity, and innovation. Gento Ante Musa highlighted visits to companies such as Lamborghini and Ducati, as well as the opportunity to learn from Executive MBA peers from different cultures and industries.

Portugal, Católica Porto Business School, Porto

The programme in Porto addressed renewable energy, hospitality, sustainability, and competitiveness. Nina Polak Kidrič emphasised the exchange of ideas among professionals from different countries and business environments, as well as the connection between sustainability challenges and business decision-making.

China, International Business School Suzhou, Suzhou

International Week in China offered first-hand exposure to one of the world’s most important business environments. Urban Bolarič highlighted conversations with MBA participants and business leaders from different countries, as well as the value of understanding global business challenges through different perspectives.

Germany, Munich Business School, Munich

In Munich, the programme combined hands-on business cases, company visits, and insights into the German business environment. Jasmina Husić highlighted the value of collaboration and the exchange of experience within an international group of Executive MBA participants.

Japan, Keio University, Tokyo

In Tokyo, participants experienced a business environment shaped by distinct cultural and organisational approaches. Ante Krišto particularly valued the diversity of participants from different countries and industries, and the opportunity to examine business challenges through different cultural and professional perspectives.

United States, San José State University, Silicon Valley

The Silicon Valley programme gave participants direct exposure to one of the world’s leading technology and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Company visits included Zoom, Amazon, and Plug and Play. Uroš Ješe highlighted both the energy of the environment and the conversations with Executive MBA participants from around the world.

United States, FIU Chapman Graduate School of Business, Miami

Miami was another destination for LJUBLJANA MBA participants this year. Uroš Živaljević described International Week at FIU Chapman Graduate School of Business as a valuable opportunity for learning, networking, and gaining new perspectives within the global EMBA Consortium community.

One network, many countries and perspectives

From Brazil, Poland, and Italy to Portugal, China, Germany, Japan, and the United States, International Week demonstrates the real value of the EMBA Consortium network.

Participants do more than attend academic sessions. They step into new business environments, visit companies, exchange ideas with executives and experts, and work alongside peers from different cultures and industries.

At the same time, Ljubljana is part of the same international story. By welcoming participants from partner schools and sending LJUBLJANA MBA participants to programs around the world, internationalisation becomes more than a subject in the curriculum. It becomes a lived experience.

Participants return from International Week with more than new knowledge. They bring back fresh perspectives, new professional connections, and an international network that continues to be part of their Executive MBA journey long after the week itself.

Study in Ljubljana. Learn around the world. Bring global perspectives back to your leadership journey.
