Each year, LJUBLJANA MBA’s annual awards honour the best performing MBA students who have demonstrated outstanding skills and motivation to become the business leaders of tomorrow.
The 2021/2022 generation has honoured their colleague Tanja Prudič with this award. We invite you to read her MBA story.
With LJUBLJANA MBA behind you, was the journey worth it?
Before I decided to join the MBA programme, I did not know what to expect. The decision was not made overnight, I carefully reviewed all the programmes in this field and I am very satisfied that I chose the MBA at the School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana. These two years have been full of challenges, short nights and juggling MBA commitments, work, family, friends and hobbies. Most importantly, I gained a lot of practical knowledge from the professors and fellow students; we challenged each other a lot. The sequence of courses is carefully thought out, so at first you feel like you are not making any progress at all, but later everything falls into place and you become a better version of yourself. And I had a lot of fun along the way, which made it much easier and more special.
The good thing is that the safe space created among colleagues brings out the hidden potential in all of us. There was no problem we could not solve together. Each of us brought something unique to the table, and with this diversity and the different perspectives and professional and personal backgrounds, my horizons have logically expanded a lot. So, yes, it was worth it.
What was your LJUBLJANA MBA highlight?
It’s impossible to pick just one. There were quite a few. I had a wonderful time in Dublin on our last field trip. I also enjoyed the time after class where we always had interesting and insightful discussions. The brain measurements were new to me. It seems that Covid has made us all more resilient. I was also very impressed with some of the financial topics that were covered. I enjoyed the negotiations the most, we had very heated discussions.
How will your career and personal path continue till now after finishing LJUBLJANA MBA?
I am looking forward to new opportunities to develop myself in the future. I want to contribute to innovative solutions that lead to a more agile organisation, leaner processes, and reduced environmental impact. Through the reflections I wrote during the courses, I have come to know myself better and am able to contribute differently on both a personal and professional level than I did before this programme.
