FAQ

Programme

How are the classes organized?

You do not have to stop working to pursue an MBA and advance your career.

Classes are held on weekends, usually, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the School of Economics and Business University of Ljubljana. There are two study weekends per month dedicated to classes.  Classes are also not organized during the summer holidays.

When does the programme start?

The new generation of LJUBLJANA MBA candidates begins their MBA journey each year in late January.

What does “adequate undergraduate education with 180 ECTS points gained” mean?

When you graduate with your bachelor’s degree and receive your “diploma,” you also get a “transcript of records” document that lists all your exams and grades.

If you graduated in Europe before the Bologna Process, you must have level 6/2 or 7/1 to participate in the LJUBLJANA MBA programme. If you have already started your studies during the Bologna Process, your degree certificate meets the criteria for enrollment (180 ECTS credits at graduation).

What does triple-accreditation mean?

As a school, we proudly highlight our three accreditations: EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.

However, what is important to you is not just what accreditations the school has. Still, what those accreditations stand for: They stand for the highest excellence in education and ensure that students receive a quality education in their business and MBA programs.

This means that acting deans from the world’s leading business schools and top business leaders from around the world come to our school every three to five years to assess whether our professors are well-qualified, conducting relevant and high-quality research, engaged in consulting, and whether the school is having a relevant impact on society.

They examine the quality of our programs, how we deliver them, the quality of our students, and how the school is perceived by other stakeholders. Only slightly more than 100 (108) schools worldwide hold all three top accreditations.

For the MBA programme, this also means that once you earn your MBA degree, it will be well received. The accreditations ensure that they are recognized worldwide.

Tuition Fee

Do tuition fees have to be paid in one amount?

Tuition may be paid in up to 6 installments or as discussed and confirmed in the Educational Agreement signed before the start of the programme.

Do you offer scholarships?

YES. The deadline for application is 30 September.

Applicants must have at least three years of relevant professional experience and demonstrate outstanding academic credentials, leadership experience, international influence (academic and business), and special awards and achievements. In addition, applicants should demonstrate an ambition to make a difference through their work and be an ambassador for the programme LJUBLJANA MBA.

What is the “final exam/thesis” at LJUBLJANA MBA?

After you have completed all courses and exams, you will begin your work on a group counseling project. The project is an intensive consulting assignment where the MBA group consults on a real case for a company and finds solutions to the client’s strategic problems.
