University of Ljubljana School of Economics and Business (UL SEB) is proud to announce that its Ljubljana MBA programme has been reaccredited with the prestigious AMBA (Association of MBAs) accreditation for the next five years. AMBA accreditation is awarded to only the top 2% of business schools across five continents, further solidifying the international reputation and quality of both UL SEB and its LJUBLJANA MBA programme.
Globally recognized as one of the most demanding and prestigious accreditations in the business school world, AMBA accreditation emphasizes the high standards of education and the excellent career prospects for graduates. AMBA accredits only MBA, DBA, and Master’s programmes from the world’s leading business schools. The LJUBLJANA MBA programme at UL SEB continues to be recognized as one of the elite business programmes at educational institutions in our region.
Professor Tomaž Turk, PhD, Dean of UL SEB, commented: “The renewal of the AMBA accreditation is a significant recognition of our continuous efforts to provide top-quality education. The LJUBLJANA MBA programme offers not only in-depth knowledge but also exceptional networking opportunities with professionals from various fields. This accreditation is an acknowledgment that we continue to offer our students the best possible tools for career development and success.”
Monika Lapanja, Director of the Centre of Business Excellence (CBE), added: “The LJUBLJANA MBA programme has long been synonymous with quality and innovation in the region. Our alumni and corporate partners consistently emphasize the programme’s added value, particularly through its practical, applicable knowledge and focus on individual development. This accreditation confirms that we continue to uphold the highest standards of quality and follow the trends in global business education.”
Recent AMBA accreditation updates include a new limit on the number of accredited institutions, which will make it even more challenging to retain this prestigious status in the future. Currently, 306 business schools hold this accreditation, but moving forward, the number will be limited to a maximum of 300, increasing the significance of this achievement. The international AMBA review team, which visited UL SEB in late May, assessed that the School continues to maintain its position as one of the leading providers of MBA education in Slovenia and the Balkans, and remains one of the elite institutions in the wider region.
A recent survey of LJUBLJANA MBA graduates highlights the programme’s significant impact on their careers. An impressive 92 per cent of alumni reported faster career progression, affirming the programme’s influence on professional growth. In addition to higher salaries and greater job satisfaction, graduates gain key skills that enhance their competitiveness in the job market. Nearly all respondents, 96 per cent, confirmed that the programme was instrumental in achieving their career goals. The programme’s strong practical focus and emphasis on decision-making skills have led 86 per cent of alumni to report increased confidence in strategic decision-making and leadership, while 90 per cent noted improved effectiveness in project management.
